Delaware Valley University is preparing for its 76th annual A-Day Fair, which will take place from April 24 to April 26. The event is organized by students and is part of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs. All proceeds from the fair are used to support student clubs and organizations.

The A-Day Fair features a variety of public competitions that showcase local agricultural practices, crafts, and creative work. These competitions have been an important part of the fair’s tradition.

There are twelve departments open for public competition this year: 4-H Departments, Hay and Grains, Vegetables, Home Produced Goods, Floral Exhibits, Needlework, Photography and Crafts, Wine and Beer, Major Contest – 4-H, Apriary Products, and Antique Farm Equipment. Some departments include multiple sections and classes. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third places in each class.

According to Delaware Valley University officials: “A-Day offers community members a unique opportunity to participate in the fair through a wide range of public competitions. These competitions highlight the region’s agricultural traditions, craftsmanship and creativity, and continue to be a cornerstone of the A-Day experience.”

Anyone interested in entering can find more information about entry guidelines in the A-Day Fair Premium Booklet available at delval.edu/aday. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, April 23 at 5 p.m., with drop-off taking place at the Life Sciences Building.
