FOIA Request to Bucks County Election Department Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Central Bucks Today have submitted a request for records under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law, 65 §66.1 et seq., from the Bucks County Election Department.

The request specifically seeks a list of all candidates running in the upcoming election. The details we are interested in include each candidate’s first, middle, and last names; the office they are running for; the jurisdiction of that office; and their party affiliation.

In addition to these basic details about each candidate, we have also requested contact information for each one. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.

As a media organization dedicated to gathering and reporting news to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. We believe that given our role in disseminating information, we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
