HARRISBURG – Rep. Shelby Labs (R-Bucks) announced today that a $4,415,435 grant through PENNVEST was approved for a well treatment project. These wells are located in Doylestown Township but serve residents of Plumstead Township.

PENNVEST funding specifically serves projects in Pennsylvania that focus on sewer, storm water, and drinking water projects.

“I was proud to support this project which will provide enhanced water filtration to residents of Plumstead Township and the surrounding community,” said Labs. “Improvements to these systems ensure residents continue to have access to clean water.”

This project will construct a centrally located treatment system for two wells, which are both located in the Doylestown Hunt neighborhood. The treatment building will contain two greensand filters for removal of manganese, two granular activated carbon filter vessels for removal of PFOA/PFOS, as well as new chlorination and polyphosphate equipment.
