Senator Steve Santarsiero and Representative Shelby Labs have announced a state funding allocation of $209,352 for the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company. The funds, awarded to the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority, will be used to purchase three new pick-up vehicles. These vehicles are intended to replace the fire company's aging fleet and enhance their operational capabilities.

The new vehicles are designed to perform high water rescues, carry more lifesaving gear and equipment, and offer better fuel economy. Senator Santarsiero emphasized the importance of this upgrade, stating, "Our volunteer firefighters put themselves on the front lines every day to keep our community safe. The new equipment will improve reliability and better enable these heroic volunteers to provide critical assistance in times of crisis."

Representative Labs also highlighted the significance of supporting first responders with necessary resources: "It is crucial that we continue to support funding for our first responders as they step up every day to serve our community. This funding will allow the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company to acquire the equipment necessary to meet the needs of our community and continue to provide these vital services."

The funding is administered through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's Local Share Account (LSA) - Statewide program. This program allocates gaming revenue via the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects aimed at improving citizens' quality of life within the Commonwealth.
