Rep. Shelby Labs and Sen. Jarrett Coleman have announced the allocation of $1.7 million in grants to various projects within the 143rd House District and 16th Senatorial District, funded by the Pennsylvania Local Share Account (LSA) program.

The grant recipients include several local projects aimed at community improvement and public safety enhancements. Perkasie Borough will receive $652,886 for renovations at Kulp Park, including drainage corrections on the baseball field, installation of ADA-accessible parking spaces, and updated field lighting to reduce light pollution.

Sellersville Borough is set to receive $790,725 for the renovation of the Sellersville Museum building. This project involves replacing the existing slate roof and rehabilitating the bell tower.

Bedminster Township will use its $77,215 grant to install license plate readers at key intersections, while Dublin Borough has been allocated $83,983 to purchase a new police vehicle equipped with an automatic license plate reader.

Additionally, Perkasie Borough will acquire body and in-car cameras for their officers with a grant of $107,415. This funding will cover 19 body cameras and 12 in-car cameras.

Rep. Labs emphasized the importance of these investments: “Investments in our community are essential for enhancing our quality of life,” she stated. She expressed pride in collaborating with Sen. Coleman to support initiatives that enhance public safety, recreational opportunities, and historical preservation.

Sen. Coleman highlighted the diverse needs addressed by these projects: “The communities we represent have a wide variety of needs," he said. He noted that investing in local landmarks like the Sellersville Museum ensures future generations can engage with shared history while also improving public parks and supporting law enforcement's evolving challenges.

These grants are part of efforts under the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 2004-71), which facilitates gaming revenue distribution through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for projects serving public interests across Pennsylvania.
