Rep. Shelby Labs and Sen. Jarrett Coleman have announced that Upper Bucks County will receive more than $1.6 million in state grants through the Local Share Account (LSA) program to support several local projects.

Sen. Coleman commented on the funding, stating, “The communities we serve each have their own unique needs, and with the assistance of these grants, they are able to make great strides in maintaining local infrastructure and improve public safety. I am pleased to have worked with Rep. Labs and help move these projects further in the right direction.”

Rep. Labs also highlighted the importance of the grants: “I was proud to join with Sen. Coleman to support funding for these projects. This grant funding represents meaningful investments in public safety, infrastructure and essential services. Each project responds to a real need in our community and will deliver tangible benefits to residents.”

The awarded projects include:

– Bedminster Municipal Authority received $990,000 for upgrading the Stonebridge Water System by adding an iron and manganese treatment filter and refurbishing its housing structure.
– Bedminster Township was granted $106,000 for a new police crime scene vehicle and trailer for law enforcement use within the township and nearby areas.
– An additional $243,000 was provided to Bedminster Township for replacing an outdated public works truck used for snow plowing, road resurfacing, and other maintenance tasks.
– Dublin Borough obtained $96,560 to replace an old dump truck intended for snow removal, water system maintenance, and general infrastructure work.
– Perkasie Borough secured $56,309 for a vehicle supporting the Civilian Community Relations Specialist program across Perkasie Borough, Sellersville Borough, and Bedminster Township; this vehicle will aid crime victims through home visits and court accompaniment.
– Another grant of $101,171 went to Perkasie Borough for a new police department vehicle aimed at improving traffic safety.

The LSA program uses gaming revenue from casinos to fund economic development initiatives across Pennsylvania. The funds are distributed by an independent agency under the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
